Critical thinking in geography education: is geographical thinking critical?

چکیده

Geography as a school subject offers enormous potential for fostering skills and competences crucial life in twenty-first century. Yet most Czech geography teachers still lean towards memorizing facts with weak understanding. Why do we expect to teach toward such critical thinking if no consensus over its meaning exists – especially the context of learning geography? This lack clear causes not only problems teaching it, but also fails any attempt at measurment evaluation. Therefore, main aim this study is, create unifying taxonomy geographical link these newly founded into concept. To fulfil goals, employ existing structural models combined thorough literature review. As result study, present required set critically geographer higher education new perspective on thinking.
